Rangers tab rookie Perez to start Saturday vs. As

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Rookie pitcher Martin Perez is scheduled to make his first major league start Saturday for the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers said Friday that the left-hander will start the third game of a four-game series against Oakland instead of rookie Justin Grimm.

Perez, Texas’ top pitching prospect, made his major league debut Wednesday night.
