CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — An ex-coach and teacher in South Carolina has been indicted on 22 felony counts of molesting boys, and a prosecutor says The Citadel faces no criminal liability for not reporting an abuse allegation from the man’s stint as a counselor at the military school’s former summer camp.
Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson announced the grand jury’s indictment Tuesday of Louis “Skip” ReVille. A Citadel graduate who taught and coached at schools and churches, ReVille was arrested last year. His attorney has said he’s sorry for the pain he’s caused.
An ex-camper alleged in 2007 he was molested by ReVille at the summer camp in 2002. While The Citadel conducted an internal investigation, it never reported it to police.
Wilson said The Citadel had no obligation to report suspicions of sexually inappropriate behavior.
