High School Athlete of the week nominees

The following athletes have been nominated for The Columbian’s high school athlete of the week. To vote, go to www.facebook.com/360preps. Voting will continue through 9 p.m. Thursday.

Jocelyn Adams, Skyview girls basketball: Adams averaged 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds a game to earn a spot on the 4A state tournament all-tournament first team.

Brooke Bowen, Skyview girls basketball: Bowen averaged 13.3 points a game and her strong all-around play led her to be voted as the most valuable player of the 4A state tournament.

Jordan Chatman, Union boys basketball: Chatman earned the MVP honor for the 4A state tournament despite playing for a third-place team. He averaged 27 points and made 14 3-pointers in the tournament and had the highlight of the tourney with his length-of-the-court shot.

Heather Corral, Prairie girls basketball: Corral was voted MVP on the 3A state tournament, averaging 12 points a game and providing solid all-around play. She had seven assists and five steals in the quarterfinals and seven assists, six steals and two blocks in the title game.

Jackie Lanz, Prairie girls basketball: Lanz averaged 10 points game and earned a spot on the 3A state tournament all-tournament first team for the state champions.
