SALEM, Va. (AP) — Chris Davis scored 30 points to help Wisconsin-Whitewater beat MIT 71-56 on Friday night in the NCAA Division III semifinals.
The Warhawks (28-4) will face Cabrini, an 81-78 winner over Illinois Wesleyan, on Saturday night in the championship game. Whitewater won national titles in 1984 and 1989.
Whitewater put the game away with a 14-0 second-half run, grabbing a 44-32 lead on Eric Bryson’s basket with 11:50 remaining. Davis scored eight points in the run.
MIT (29-2), which had a 13-game winning streak, went 6:29 without scoring during the Warhawks’ run and shot 39.6 percent (21 of 53) from the floor for the game.
Will Tashman had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Engineers.
