ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — Hazardous weather conditions have prompted the Coast Guard to close multiple bar entrances on the Oregon and Washington coasts.
The agency said Tuesday the closures involve the Siuslaw River and Depoe and Tillamook Bay bars in Oregon, the Columbia River bar between Oregon and Washington and the Grays Harbor and Quillayute River bars in Washington.
The Coast Guard says it will reopen the waterways as soon as the weather improves.
The bar is the point where a river or bay meets the ocean.
