PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a gay couple in downtown Portland last week but said they are still looking for a second suspect who showed a knife during the fight and helped damage an SUV.

Thirty-nine-year-old Paul Anthony Martinson faces charges of assault, intimidation and criminal mischief in connection with the Wednesday incident.

The couple told police they had just parked and were holding hands when two men approached. One allegedly made anti-gay slurs, sparking a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight.
