PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. drone fired two missiles at a house in northwest Pakistan, killing three alleged militants.
The officials say the attack occurred early Friday morning in Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal area, a key sanctuary for Taliban and al-Qaida militants. Four suspected militants were also wounded, and foreigners were believed to be among the group hit.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
The strike will likely exacerbate tensions with Pakistan at a time when the country’s parliament is debating a resolution demanding an end to U.S. drone attacks in the country.
