TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda says he experienced soreness in the back of his right shoulder during his start Friday night against Philadelphia.
Pineda felt the discomfort during an outing in which he allowed six runs and seven hits in 2 2-3 innings.
The hard-throwing right-hander, bidding for a rotation spot, lacked velocity again, averaging around 91 mph. Pineda also said he had problems with his mechanics, opening his left shoulder while delivering pitches.
