SAN DIEGO (AP) — Padres closer Huston Street has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strain near his pitching shoulder.
The team announced the move Saturday, saying Street has a strained right lat. He left Friday night’s game against Miami after issuing a two-out walk in the 10th inning and was scheduled for an MRI exam Saturday.
After the game Friday, Street said he did not think it was a major injury.
San Diego selected the contract of right-hander Miles Mikolas from Double-A San Antonio and transferred infielder Logan Forsythe from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL.
In his first season with the Padres, Street has four saves and a 0.93 ERA in 10 appearances. The 2005 AL Rookie of the Year was acquired from Colorado in a December trade.
