Saginaw wins Belmont’s Affirmed Success Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Saginaw, the 3-5 favorite, stretched his winning streak to five on Saturday, beating Uncle T Seven by 712 lengths in the $100,000 Affirmed Success Stakes for New York breds at Belmont Park.

David Cohen was aboard for trainer David Jacobson as the 6-year-old gelding improved to 11 for 27. The time was 1:21.59 for the seven furlongs.

Saginaw paid $3.50, $2.50 and $2.10. Uncle T Seven returned $3.50 and $2.50 while Mine Over Matter paid $2.90 to show.
