1A/2B/1B track: Defilippis wins again; Seton girls place 2nd

Lucy Defilippis won her second Class 1B state championship Saturday, helping the Seton Catholic girls place second in the team standings at the 1A/2B/1B state meet in Cheney.

Defilippis won the 1,600 meters in 5 minutes, 31.88 seconds to go with her 3,200 title on Friday. She also placed fourth in the 800 (2:31.67).

The Seton Catholic girls placed second in the 800 and 1,600 relays and third in the 400 relay as the Cougars finished behind Mount Rainier Lutheran in the team standings 90-76.

Seton’s Claire Snodgrass was third in the 400 (1:03.38) and fifth in the 800 (2:31.69), Grace Brodeur was fourth in the 200 (27.59) and Hannah Moore was fifth in the triple jump (31-11).

Seton’s boys team placed fifth in the team standings, led by Ian Boyle, who was third in the 100 (11.72) and 200 meters (23.95). Tommy Defilippis was third in the 3,200 (10:22.70).

In the 1A meet, Ridgefield’s Raigan Page placed second in the 200 (26.22), third in the 400 (57.73) and fourth in the 100 (12.87).

Stevenson’s Jen Rathgeber placed fourth in the 300 hurdles (49.96), seventh in the 100 hurdles and eighth in the triple jump (33-10 1/2).

La Center’s Annie Baker placed eighth in the discus (100-3).
