NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner made in South Carolina has been flown to Texas to be painted in the color scheme of Air India.

Company spokeswoman Candy Eslinger says the plane flew to Fort Worth, Texas, on Wednesday for Leading Edge Aviation Services to paint the aircraft. It is expected back in South Carolina next month.

The plane is scheduled to be delivered to Air India soon, but the airline has said it will not take any of the 27 Dreamliners it has ordered until it works out with Boeing compensation for the three-year delay in delivery of the jets.

The first jet scheduled for Air India was made at Boeing’s Everett, Wash., plant. The next three for the airline are being made in North Charleston.
