BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — With Andrew Nicholson now playing in the NBA, St. Bonaventure men’s basketball coach Mark Schmidt isn’t making any promises for this season. And Bonnies women’s coach Jim Crowley has lowered his expectations after losing two stars of his own to graduation.
So don’t hold your breath anticipating any immediate encores in Olean.
Reproducing a once-in-a-lifetime magical March — when both Bonnies men’s and women’s basketball teams earned NCAA tournament berths — might be asking for a little much two years in a row.
The faces have changed on both teams preparing to open a new season. What remains, however, is the afterglow of success that continues to shine on this tiny Atlantic 10 Conference school that finds its once-forgotten basketball programs firmly on the national map.
