Business name: Sustainable Wealth Management.

Owner: Todd Pisarczyk.

Address:
652 Officers Row.

What the business does: Sustainable Wealth Management, a private, independent firm, provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management services to individuals, families and small businesses. The company also works in conjunction with other local professionals to assist in estate planning and insurance services. Todd Pisarczyk said most of his clients are in Clark County, but over the years a number have relocated, some as far away as London and Dubai.

Steps to build your business: Pisarczyk said his business has grown over the years through word of mouth. He is careful, he said, to make sure that growth does not take away from his ability to serve existing clients.

Greatest challenge: Pisarczyk said his firm is spending more time, energy and money on research than ever in order to ensure that investors are making good investments on their clients’ behalf.

What’s ahead: The next six to eight months are shaping up to be very interesting, Pisarczyk said, for both his clients and his firm. Politics in the United States and around the world is having a greater effect than normal on financial markets. With the “fiscal cliff” looming in the United States and continued concerns in Europe over its nations’ debt issues, markets will likely continue to be volatile, which has a huge impact on his clients.

Business philosophy: Maintaining a focus on doing what is best for his clients makes most business decisions pretty simple.

Favorite part of the job:
Pisarczyk said the friendships he develops with clients normally last a long time. It is rewarding to be able to help make a positive impact on the lives of clients and to get to know them on a personal level.

Professional background:
Pisarczykgraduated from Washington State University Vancouver in 1998 and started his career in the investment industry as a financial adviser. He left the brokerage world in 2004 and started his own practice, which would eventually become Sustainable Wealth Management.

Year established in Clark County: 2004.
