ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Beholder romped to victory by 11 lengths in the $50,000 feature at Santa Anita on Thursday, and is being pointed to the Breeders’ Cup next month on the same track.

Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Beholder ran six furlongs in 1:09:00, the fastest time of the autumn meet that began last Friday. The 2-year-old filly paid $3.20, $2.10 and $2.10.

Trainer Richard Mandella said Beholder could run next in either the $500,000 BC Juvenile Sprint against males or the $2 million BC Juvenile Fillies, both on Nov. 2.

“Depending on how she acts next week, we’ll make a decision,” he said. “She cruised along so easy it’s just amazing. Garrett said he felt like he could do whatever he wanted to with her, so we’ll wait and see.”

Mechaya returned $2.20 and $2.10, while Wildcat Angie was another 6 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $3.60 to show.

The victory, worth $50,350, increased Beholder’s career earnings to $155,350.
