MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Twins director of minor league operations Jim Rantz is retiring after 52 years with the team.
The 75-year old has been with the Twins’ franchise since its inception in 1961 after signing his first professional contract with the Washington Senators in 1960.
In a statement, Rantz said he’s had an incredible journey and looks forward to spending more time with his family.
After spending five years as a player and manager, he joined the Twins’ front office following the 1965 season. He spent four years in public relations before moving into the minor league and scouting department.
