NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Michael German threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to A.C. Leonard as time expired and Jamin Godfrey, who had already kicked a school-record five field goals, added the extra point to lift Tennessee State to a 22-21 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
Godfrey kicked field goals of 37 and 32 yards in the first quarter and 27 and 41 yards in the second, giving the Tigers (8-1, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference) a 12-7 lead.
After Darian Stone’s 41-yard touchdown pass to Eric Belew pushed the Golden Eagles (2-6. -0-5) ahead 14-12 at halftime, Godfrey kicked a 22-yarder in the third.
Stone, who was 5-of-13 passing for 77 yards, threw a 6-yard TD pass to Cody Matthews for a 21-15 Tennessee Tech lead early in the fourth.
