DETROIT (AP) — Tigers utility man Don Kelly is set to become a free agent.

The team announced Wednesday that Kelly was being sent outright to Triple-A Toledo, but he would elect free agency instead and be eligible to sign with any major league team.

Kelly played in 75 games with AL champion Detroit this season, batting .186 with a home run and seven RBIs. In four seasons with the Tigers, he hit .235 while playing all over the field.
