A fire burned a house in a wooded area near Yacolt on Saturday, according to emergency radio traffic.

The fire was reported about 7:15 p.m. at 30116 N.E. 172nd Ave. Firefighters reported seeing a plume of smoke as they were en route to the fire.

When they arrived, firefighters took a defensive approach — applying water from the outside of the structure and working to prevent its spread. Crews were still mopping up at 9:30 p.m.

Further details were not available on the fire Saturday evening.

County property records list the owner as Gary L. Clark. Records described the house as having a hexagonal first floor and a circular dome as the second floor.
