Letter: McCloud deserves spot on bench

The Columbian
Published: September 14, 2012, 5:00pm

I encourage voters to research candidates for the Washington State Supreme Court as the composition of our highest court ultimately determines how our most fundamental constitutional guarantees are interpreted.

Sheryl Gordon McCloud, candidate for Position 9, has practiced law for more than 28 years and earned a statewide reputation as an outstanding appellate attorney. She is known as an uncompromising advocate for equality and fairness, volunteering thousands of hours representing people who could not afford an attorney, beginning with her pro bono defense of women’s rights to pregnancy disability before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Some candidates are more deserving than others — none more than Gordon McCloud.
