MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Trailing by 17 points after one quarter, Saint Francis (Pa.) erupted for 43 second-half points while shutting out Morehead State in the second half of a 57-23 non-conference rout Saturday.
The Red Flash (2-1) rushed for 457 yards in 66 carries to 88 for Morehead State (1-2). Keion Wade ran for 243 yards and three touchdowns in 27 carries. William Ingram rushed for two more scores and Khairi Dickson ran for another for the Red Flash of the Northeast Conference.
Morehead State’s Zach Lewis completed 31 of 53 passes for 364 yards and two touchdowns, one a 94-yarder in the first quarter to Brandon Bornhauser. But Lewis was also intercepted three times and was shut out in the second half.
Trailing 23-14 at halftime, Saint Francis outscored the Eagles 43-0 in the second half. John Kelly completed 7 of 9 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns to A.J. Alexander.
