NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Titans middle linebacker Colin McCarthy will be out against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, his second consecutive start missed since hurting his right ankle.

McCarthy hurt his ankle in the opener against the New England Patriots and has not practiced or played since. Coach Mike Munchak says Friday he hopes the defensive captain can return next week.

Offensive tackle Mike Otto is the only other Tennessee player who sat out practice Friday due to soreness in his right knee following arthroscopic surgery. He is questionable against the Detroit Lions.

Linebacker Zach Brown (knee), right guard Leroy Harris (right knee) and defensive tackle Mike Martin (foot) are probable for Sunday. Running back Javon Ringer (elbow) and defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks (knee) are questionable.
