Letter: Herrera Beutler’s thinking is flawed

The Columbian

Misunderstood? Upon reading the Sept. 11 Columbian story “Herrera Beutler: Vote barometer on light rail: Chamber upset about statement on Proposition 1,” I was hoping that The Columbian had misunderstood Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s, R-Camas, recent remarks, but unfortunately I’m afraid the reporting was accurate. She said that if C-Tran’s Proposition 1 is voted down she will interpret that as an unwritten message to mean a “no” on funding for the Columbia River Crossing’s light rail into Clark County and that’s the message she’ll take to Washington, D.C. What is she thinking?

I hope Herrera Beutler wakes up and becomes a responsible Congresswoman and begins working for the good of the land she represents.
