COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) — Marcelo Sarvas scored in the 10th minute and the Los Angeles Galaxy played to 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Sunday night, extending their unbeaten streak to seven games.
Sarvas scored his second goal of the season to help the Galaxy (15-11-5) improve to 5-0-2 in their unbeaten stretch while outscoring opponents 16-4. Los Angeles moved two points behind Real Salt Lake for second place in the Western Conference with three games left.
Jaime Castrillon had his eighth goal of the year in the 16th minute for Colorado (9-18-4). The Rapids have won only once in their last 15 games, and trail Vancouver by eight points for the final playoff spot in the West.
The Galaxy lost defender A.J. DeLaGarza to a left ankle injury in the 30th minute.
