OLYMPIA (AP) — Liam was the most-popular name for boys born in Washington last year and Sophia was the top name for girls.
The state Health Department says Sophia has been No. 1 for three years in a row. Liam has been in the top 10 since 2010.
Names are tracked in state health statistics. The lists were released Tuesday for the 87,415 babies born in 2012.
The top 10 most popular names for girls: Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Isabella, Ava, Emily, Abigail, Elizabeth, Mia, Ella.
The top 10 most popular names for boys: Liam, Mason, Ethan, Alexander, Benjamin, Noah, William, Jacob, James, Michael.
