Candyman E wins Big A’s Spooky Mulder Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Candyman E wore down the pacesetting Dads Caps to win the $98,000 Spooky Mulder Stakes on Friday at Aqueduct.

The 6-year-old chestnut gelding, trained by David Jacobson and ridden by Cornelio Velasquez, has nine victories in 20 starts. Candyman E prevailed by three-quarters of a length, covering six furlongs in 1:12.20 on the fast track.

Candyman E paid $8.40, $4.30 and $2.60. Dads Caps, the 8-5 favorite, returned $3.50 and $2.10, and Preatereo paid $2.20 to show.
