BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Maurice Barrow hit 9 of 13 from the field and led Fairfield with a career-high 21 points as the Stags avenged a loss to Canisius earlier this year and extended their winning streak to six with a 66-45 win in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action Thursday night.

Fairfield (10-5, 2-1) fell to the Griffins (9-5, 2-1) 67-55 on Dec. 7 but have won every game since. The Stags have also won their last five road games.

The loss snapped Canisius’ six-game home winning streak.

Canisius entered ranked second in the country with 9.7 3-pointers per game but hit just 3 of 15 Thursday.

Barrow helped Fairfield hit 47.9 percent (23 of 48) from the floor. Chris Manhertz scored 11 points with 13 rebounds for his fifth career double-double.

Canisius went without a field goal until Bill Baron’s 3-pointer over 5 minutes into the game, ending an 11-point Fairfield run.
