CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State coach Mike Riley has promoted assistant head coach Jay Locey to chief of staff and graduate assistant Trent Bray to linebackers coach.

Locey, in his seventh season as coach, will add fundraising, alumni engagement, high school and community relations, player leadership development and team building activities to a list of duties in his new role.

A graduate assistant coach to be named later will assume Locey’s responsibilities over the team’s tight ends.

Bray, who started at linebacker for the Beavers from 2002-05, returned to Oregon State as a graduate assistant last year after two seasons as linebackers coach at Arizona State.
