CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Florida State forward Terrance Shannon returned to the lineup Sunday against North Carolina after being out since January with a neck injury.

Shannon was hurt Jan. 19 when he appeared to hit his head against the leg of Virginia’s Nick Nolte during a scramble under the basket. He was carried off the court on a stretcher and taken to a hospital that night, and coach Leonard Hamilton said last month the 6-foot-8 redshirt junior could be out for the year.

Shannon made his return in the opening half against the Tar Heels after missing 11 straight games. He was still the team’s leading rebounder at 6.3 boards per game coming into Sunday.
