LONDON, Ontario (AP) — Kim Yu-na is back, and she has a warning for the rest of the world.
She thinks she can be every bit as good as she was in Vancouver, when she came as close to perfection as skating has ever seen.
This week’s World Figure Skating Championships is the reigning Olympic champion’s first major competition in two years. But with silky smooth jumps, regal elegance and a seamless connection between her blades, her music and her heart, she is clearly the one to beat.
Again.
Kim says performances like hers in Vancouver, when she set records that still stand in the short program, free skate and total score, aren’t easy to achieve. But with hard work, she’s confident she can deliver once again.
