ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The NCAA is publicly reprimanding and fining two New Mexico men’s soccer coaches for unsportsmanlike conduct during the 2012 men’s soccer championship.
According to the NCAA, Lobos goalkeeper coach Savva Biller’s misconduct occurred during a second-round match against Virginia. The NCAA says Biller used profane and unsporting language toward Virginia players and profane language toward tournament staff, followed by an obscene gesture at Virginia’s coaches and bench.
The NCAA says head coach Jeremy Fishbein failed to attend a mandatory administrative meeting before New Mexico’s third-round match against Connecticut.
The NCAA did not disclose the amount of the fines in its announcement Wednesday.
The university did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
