CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Canadian freshman left-hander Ryan Kellogg threw a no-hitter in Arizona State’s 4-0 victory over Oregon State on Saturday.

Kellogg, from Whitby, Ontario, had the ninth no-hitter in school history and the first since Kevin Rawitzer against Southern Utah on Feb. 2, 1993.

Kellogg (5-0) struck out three and didn’t allow a walk in 110 pitches, with Oregon State’s two base runners reaching on errors. Kellogg’s perfect game was broken up with one out in the seventh inning when shortstop Drew Stankiewicz made an error that allowed the second batter of the inning to reach first. A dropped fly ball by right fielder Trever Allen in the eighth put another Beavers hitter on base, but neither made it past first.
