The Youth Summer Job Fair on Friday at the Vancouver Community Library brought together local employers and area young people, such as 16-year-old Homelink student Cody Coss. Coss spoke with to Ed Bush, an employment specialist from Goodwill Industries, at the event, which featured opportunities for job shadowing, internships, employment and volunteering in Vancouver. Event sponsors included the Vancouver Housing Authority, WorkSource, Educational Service District 112 and nConnect.

On Thursday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will host Hiring Our Heroes — Vancouver, a job fair for veterans and military spouses. More than 60 employers are expected to participate from 9 a.m. to noon at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 15005 N.E. 65th St. Job seekers should register by clicking here. Walk-ins with proof of military service are also welcome the day of the event.
