CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage says softball coach Eileen Schmidt has resigned.

The former Cavaliers catcher and the school’s first softball All-American compiled a 145-168 record in six years at Virginia, that was 1-20 in Atlantic Coast Conference play in 2007.
