DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have put left-hander Jeff Francis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin and designated infielder Reid Brignac for assignment.

The Rockies also recalled infielder D.J. LeMahieu and right-hander Rob Scahill from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Francis was hurt during Tuesday’s win against the Cubs in Chicago. He is 2-3 with a 6.00 ERA in eight starts this season.

LeMahieu batted .364 with one home run and 22 RBIs in 33 games at Triple-A. He hit .297 with two homers and 22 RBIs in 81 games for the Rockies last year.

Scahill pitched once for the Rockies earlier this season.

Brignac was acquired from Tampa Bay in the offseason. He batted .250 in 29 games with Colorado.
