COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Steve Mock scored seven goals and Rob Pannell added two goals and six assists as unseeded Cornell routed third-seeded Ohio State 16-6 in the NCAA tournament quarterfinals Saturday at Byrd Stadium.

The Big Red (14-3) will face the winner of Sunday’s Duke-Notre Dame game in next weekend’s semifinals in Philadelphia.

Cornell broke open a 1-1 game with five consecutive goals in the first quarter. Mock had all of his seven goals at halftime for the Big Red, which reached the semifinals for the first time since 2010.

Jesse King scored two goals for the Buckeyes (13-4), who have never advanced to the semifinals and were making only their second quarterfinal appearance.

Pannell moved into second on the NCAA’s career points list, passing former Air Force star Joe Vasta. Pannell has 347 points, six shy of ex-Duke attackman Matt Danowski’s career record of 353.
