ABUNDANT LIFE CENTER will present a Wesak celebration at 12:30 p.m. at Quality Inn Conference Center, 7001 N.E. Highway 99. Wesak is the most important of the Buddhist festivals and is celebrated on the full moon in May, according to the BBC. It celebrates Buddha’s birthday, and, for some, also marks his enlightenment and death, the BBC says. CELEBRATION BRUNCH for Ben and Tara Adams at 9:45 a.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 5607 N.E. Gher Road. Ben Adams has been an intern at St. Andrew for the past year. THE NINTH & FINAL AND JAMES YOUNGER BANDS will be featured in an event hosted by The Defenders USA, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. June 1 at Crossroads Community Church, 7708 N.E. 78th St. Suggested donation is $3. The event will also feature speakers Chris Gonzales and Ed Ouellette. The Defenders USA is a men’s program of Shared Hope International and is raising money to prevent sex trafficking and restore trafficked women and children.

CLARK COLLEGE CHORALE
