Bryant beats Arkansas 4-1 in 1st round

MANHATTAN, Kansas (AP) — John Mullen went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as Bryant of the Northeast Conference defeated the SEC’s Arkansas 4-1 in an NCAA regional Friday.

Kevin Brown hit an RBI single to break a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning, and Mullen followed with a run-scoring triple. Brian Anderson singled to put the Bulldogs (45-16-1) ahead by three runs.

Arkansas (37-21) scored its only run on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Jake Wise in the fifth inning, and was held to three hits by a group of three pitchers.

The Bulldogs tied the game in the sixth inning with an RBI single from Mullen. Brown also finished 3 for 4 in the win.

Salvatore Lisante (2-2) got the victory for Bryant, while Jalen Beeks (6-2) took the loss for the Razorbacks.
