Letter: Moral sense is good guide

The Columbian
Published: November 4, 2013, 4:00pm

Evidently, the leaders of the Clark County Republican Party don’t believe in people thinking for themselves. It seems to me that Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, followed her conscience over the party line by voting to avoid default. I’m disappointed that she doesn’t support Obamacare, but I commend her for not allowing the country to be destroyed over this one issue. I also want to thank her for not holding my veterans disability compensation and Social Security hostage. They are my only sources of income.

The Republicans don’t seem to understand the meaning of “Republic.” Maybe they should change their name to the Dictatorial Party.
