Nominees for high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 9. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

AUSTIN BLANKENSHIP, COLUMBIA RIVER CROSS COUNTRY: Blankenship posted the top local time at the state meet, placing 20th in the 3A boys meet in 15:15.

ALYSSA CARNES, LA CENTER VOLLEYBALL: Carnes had 50 kills and 35 blocks in four matches in the 1A district tournament as the Wildcats placed third and advanced to the state tournament.

ALEXA EFRAIMSON, CAMAS CROSS COUNTRY: Efraimson won her second consecutive 4A state title, breaking the state meet course record with a winning time of 17:01.

DARYA SAMIEE, MOUNTAIN VIEW SWIMMING: Samiee won district titles in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, setting a pool record in the 500 free, and helped the Thunder win two relays and a team title.

RYLEE SEEKINS, HOCKINSON SOCCER: Seekins finished the 2A district tournament in a big way, scoring three goals and an assist in a win over Tumwater then accounting for all four goals in a state playoff-clinching win over Capital.
