PITTSBURGH (AP) — Duquesne’s defense converted two interceptions and a fumble into first-half touchdowns Saturday in a 27-14 win over West Liberty.
Linebacker Christian Kuntz had eight tackles, including a sack that forced a fumble by West Liberty QB Tyler Tucci, which defensive lineman Zach Zidian recovered in the end zone. Defensive lineman Dane O’Driscoll picked off a Tucci pass, returning it 33 yards for a score, and defensive back Nick Floyd intercepted another, returning it 71 yards for a TD.
Dillon Buechel threw an 18-yard scoring pass to Chris King, who had 10 catches for 127 yards and became the first Duquense player since 2009 to catch 10 passes in a game. The win lifts the Dukes to 2-2.
For West Liberty (2-3), Tucci hit Dylan Potts on a 15-yard scoring pass in the first quarter, and Dylan Lagarde hit Potts on a 48-yarder in the fourth.
