ATLANTA (AP) — Corey Robinson threw three touchdown passes on 350 yards passing, including a 54-yard strike late in the game, to lead Troy over Georgia State 35-28 Saturday.
Troy’s Chris Pickett intercepted Ronnie Bell late in the fourth quarter to halt a promising drive and two plays later Robinson connected with Chris Williams for the 54-yard touchdown to break a 28-28 tie.
The Trojans (4-3, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference) forced a punt on the ensuing Georgia State (0-6, 0-4) possession and the Panthers were unable to stop Troy from running out the clock to end the game.
Tied at 21-21 after three quarters, Albert Wilson caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Bell to give the Panthers the lead. Troy responded with a touchdown run from Jordan Chunn to tie the game at 28-28.
Troy’s road victory spoiled Georgia State’s first game as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
