The school board of Battle Ground Public Schools has selected the search firm McPherson & Jacobson LLC from Omaha, Neb., to find qualified candidates for superintendent of the district.

The district’s contract with the search firm is $19,930.

The search will begin this month. A new superintendent is expected to begin work by July 1, 2014. The firm was one of three finalists that made a presentation at the Sept. 17 school board meeting.

The school board agreed to pay Shonny Bria, the district’s former superintendent, a buyout package totaling $401,715 to leave the district with two years remaining on her contract.
