DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Andy Rice connected with Nick Rosa twice for touchdowns and Drake overcame a slow start to beat Indianapolis 31-14 on Saturday.

After trailing 7-3 at the half, the Drake defense began to dominate and the Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1 Pioneer) scored 28 points, including a sack-fumble recovery in the end zone by linebacker Sean Conerty.

Rice hit Rosa on scoring passes of 3 and 6 yards in the third quarter, and connected with Kevin Marshall for a two-point conversion. Rice was 25 of 34 for 211 yards passing. Kicker Benjamin Tesson hit three field goals, including a 52-yarder.

Division II Indianapolis’ scores came on Chris Mills passes to Greg Johnson and to Klay Fiechter. The Greyhounds dominated the first half, largely bottling up Rice, but the Bulldogs dug in and scored on their first possession of the second half to take the lead and shift the momentum in their favor.
