Voter registration deadline approaching

The last day to submit a mail-in voter registration form for the Nov. 5 general election is Oct. 7.

Mail-in voter registration forms or change-of-address forms must be postmarked by Oct. 7 or earlier.

Online registration applications can be submitted until midnight on Oct. 7 at www.clarkvotes.org.

Additionally, the Clark County Elections Department, at 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver, will be open until 5 p.m. Oct. 7 to accept address changes made by telephone or in person.

After Oct. 7, residents who are new to Washington state have through Oct. 28 to register by appearing in person at the elections department.

Included on the Nov. 5 ballot are several local government seats, including city council, school board and mayoral positions. Several county and state advisory measures, and county freeholder candidates are also are on the ballot. Registration forms and a sample ballot are available on the election department’s website.
