Letter: Leaders move project forward

The Columbian
Published: September 30, 2013, 5:00pm

Thank you to our leaders for being brave, forward-thinking in moving forward the Interstate 5 Bridge project, which I support with light rail.

Thank you to Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt and City Council members Bart Hansen and Larry Smith, Ridgefield Mayor Ron Onslow and Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart for passing the resolution to allow C-Tran to enter into agreements with TriMet to build light rail. It’s a Herculean task accomplished and we must thank our elected officials and demonstrate to the community that they represent us, that we want progress, we want to build a bridge. This action clears the way for Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber to include the bridge in a special session.
