Fort Vancouver offers free entry over the weekend

Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will offer free admission Saturday and Sunday as part of the opening of National Park Week.

Fort Vancouver, 1001 E. Fifth St., is one of 401 National Park Service locations.The reproduction stockade is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The next fee-free day at Fort Vancouver will be Aug. 25, celebrating the National Park Service’s 98th birthday.

The regular entry fee for the reconstructed fort stockade is $3 per individual; admission is free for children 15 and younger.

The Fort Vancouver site includes the McLoughlin House unit, in Oregon City, Ore.; there is no entry fee at the McLoughlin House unit.
