The Aug. 8 story reported “Election observer shows up with gun: Some workers later voice discomfort; county code mum.”
Packing heat to oversee election results seems to us a dangerous, childish act to demonstrate power over people and the proceedings. The only demonstrated threat in the place was Gerald “Rick” Halle, a certified election observer.
Go play someplace safer like a regulated shooting range. And, do we really want a person like him in public with death at his hip?
