Letter: Voting attendance is lacking

The Columbian
Published: February 4, 2014, 4:00pm

I have to wonder if anyone who voted for U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has ever examined her real voting record as opposed to the carefully spinned PR she puts out. It would show that she has failed to vote in 51 of the last 61 votes. Seriously.

In the last 10 votes she managed to make, she voted to cut food stamps — in a move that will affect Washingtonians at a higher rate than many other states; she voted to make it difficult to get health care at least twice; she voted another time to try to highlight the shortcomings of Obamacare; and lastly voted to “loosen” oversight for dealing with hazardous solid waste. The other five votes were “fluffy” concurrence or unanimous consent votes. What a gal.
