Tuileisu Anderson goes by T. Anderson for the Union girls basketball team.

The T might as well stand for triple. As in triple-double.

Anderson had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals Tuesday night, leading Union in the third-place game of the Class 4A District 4 district tournament.

The Titans will advance to the bi-district tournament. Battle Ground’s season came to an end.

Anderson would not let Battle Ground’s offense breathe all night, always in a passing lane. Her steal and layup just seconds after a Hannah O’Donnell 3-pointer gave Union five quick points and a 39-35 lead with 2:25 to play.

Ball game.

Both teams played after a long layoff after the recent weather-related school cancellations. And both offenses struggled.

Union, in fact, was 3 of 29 from 3-point range until O’Donnell and Molly Petrie hit 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Grace Davis also hit a 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer to give Union a 34-31 advantage.

Madison Barr made three 3-pointers for Battle Ground and finished with nine points. Kyle Smith and Jossilyn Blackman also had nine points apiece for the Tigers. Blackman grabbed 17 rebounds.
